Two beautiful show are now being hung at two of the galleries at Summit Artspace in downtown Akron right next door to the Akron Museum of Art. Downstairs: The Women's Art League 80th Anniversary Show is in the Taylor Gallery on the first floor entitled "Brushstrokes ...Then and now". The show features recent works by the group's members, incorporating peripheral memorabilia explaining the organization's history plus member sketchbooks. On opening night WAL will also host a cash and carry and silent auction of art and upscale "what nots" donated by it's members in a nearby viewing area. The proceeds of the auction will be used to fund scholarships for promising local high school artists. Here is my piece in the Women's Art League Show: Upstairs: The Artists of Rubber City hosts their AORC 23rd Annual Juried Show in the Box Gallery on the third floor. This highly anticipated annual show has earned a fine reputation for it's quality and diversity. I'm happy to have the following two pieces included in this show: Both shows will open on Friday, April 26th with wine and snack receptions from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at 140 East Market Street, Akron OH (Summit Artspace Bldg). Shows run through June 1, 2013
