September 1st Art Walk ...Big night !

The first Saturday of every month is Art Walk Night in the downtown Akron Arts District.

We artists open up our studios  to the community and have a wonderful opportunity to chat with familiar visitors, meet new friends and sell some of our work.

The atmosphere is always festive and friendly ... a great way to spend a Saturday evening!!!

This Saturday's Akron Art Walk includes a special treat for the eyes.  September 1st will be the debut showing of the month long "Akron Art Prize" competition.

Approximately 150 Artists will have a piece of their work displayed in one of five downtown venues.  The public will vote for their favorite piece via text message from their cell phones.  $10,000.00 in prizes, donated by the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation, will be awarded to the winners.

Here is my Akron Art Prize entry. 

It will be displayed in the Summit Artspace Building.

 I've titled it "Pieces".  It's it is a four foot tall painted steel wall sculpture .
