My Online Show Statement: I have always been an observer and questioner searching inwardly for an understanding of people and of humanity as a whole. I am intrigued by the actions and interactions of individuals, groups, and societies. The work I produce from these obervations and questions are, for me, quite emotional to create. My compositions are most often visual abstractions of with the exception of my “Apron” series and my “Concealed Carry” series which are both representative in nature. In contrast, I enjoy playfully depicting the meditative properties of flowers. This provides a jumping off place for my imagination and serve to balance the production my more intense subject matter. I paint in both acrylic and oil and use mild steel predominantly for my sculptural pieces. Having experienced many mediums as a high school art educator, I also feel comfortable employing other mediums when the piece calls for it. kpr Studio Description: Painting Studio: #404 West, 2530 Superior Ave. (west side of ArtCraft building), Cleveland, OH 44114) 1500 sq. ft. studio space with lighted gallery and kitchen. Staying "afloat" in an ocean of concern for health, for loss of income, for societal injustices, and for extreme political division, requires patience and strength. Happy to have this piece included in the AORC show.
