Add Comment The Artists of Rubber City Annual Juried Show is a well respected show in these parts and it's always an honor to receive that "juried in" notification. I entered one piece this year ... the sculpture pictured below. The Show opens on April 27 and runs through June 3, 2012. The opening reception is Friday, April 27, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the BOX Gallery, 140 E. Market St. (third floor).  "Flirtation", painted steel, 38" x 22" x 10.5" I was just informed that my two paintings (below) will be part of the initial "Art at the Airport" exhibition at the Akron Canton Airport from April through July, 2012. This new exhibition program will feature six local artists, (three from Summit County and three from Stark County) every 4 months. I'm very pleased to be part of the exhibit.
Spring in Ohio is always magical. Despite the higher than normal winter temps this year, it is no less exciting to watch the gradual "greening up" of the local landscape and to feel the sun's warmth on your skin. Fresh and Springy ...  I am honored to have my painting, Supporters (acrylic 24" x 60") juried into the current "Fresh" show at Summit Artspace Gallery. The show's title this year is "Fresh and Springy". This annual competition showcases innovative work that has been created within the past year. It is always a treat to see what fellow artists come up with. "Fresh and Springy" runs through April 14, 2012. Summit Artspace Gallery hours are Thurs. - Sun. 12 - 5:00. Location 140 E. Market St., Akron, OH Being a fan of the color red, the hue inevitably shows up frequently in my work ... so when I heard about the Ruby, Ruby ... All Things Red show at Valley Art Center in Chagrin Falls, I decided to search through my available pieces for something appropriately red.  Christine Paringer with my painting "Seeing the Light" I have four pieces in the show. Two of them are pictured here. My Friend, Chris, who also had work juried into the show was kind enough to snap some photos at the Opening. Reception. I, unfortunately, was unable to attend the Opening but look forward to catching the show later .

Phone: 440 247-7507 www.valleyartcenter.org  Opening Reception for the bi-annual "Out of the Box" Show and Auction is tonight from 5-7:00 at the Summit Art Space gallery. It's always great fun to see the various artists' interpretations. My steel piece is (very creatively) entitled "Out of the Box". There will be 50 "box" pieces on display tonight through Nov. 6, 2011. Pieces will then be moved to EJ. Thomas Hall at the University of Akron for final bidding at the Arts Alive formal event on Nov. 20.  "Poinsettia Party", acrylic 34" x 36 Here are my two entries for the current Women's Art League Juried Show. The venue for the show is First Congretional Church Gallery, located on the corner of East Market and Union St. in Akron, OH. I decided that a more traditional scubject matter was in order for this venue. So I opted for flowers and food. The ice cream cone, "Scoops", won an Honorable Mention Award.  "Scoops", acrylic 24" x 12"  Hungry??? I painted this little acrylic painting for Hudson Fine Art Gallery's "In the Pink" show which runs through October. Many local artists contributed 6" x 6" canvases to be raffled. Proceeds will benefit "The Gathering Place". The Gallery is located a 9 Aurora St., Hudson, OH | Author
